Why Drivers Choose Hand-Built Fortune Auto Coilovers
Fortune Auto has spent more than a decade engineering high-performance suspension systems in the United States. The brand is widely considered high quality, reputable, and versatile across daily drivers and track cars. Each kit is hand assembled at Fortune Auto's Virginia facility. The brand is the official suspension supplier of Global Time Attack, with deep involvement in Formula Drift, NASA, and the World Time Attack series.
Built for High-Performance Daily and Track Use
These shocks run a monotube damper design with high-pressure nitrogen and synthetic shock oil. The monotube layout dissipates heat better and supports larger pistons. The Concave Flow Digressive piston technology provides a wide adjustment range, balancing daily-driving comfort with track-grade body control over roll, dive, and squat. Customers consistently report that the precision and reliability justify the investment.
Every set ships with a 5-year limited manufacturer's warranty on hard parts (mounts, top hats, camber plates, shock body) and 1 year on consumables. Claims go through Fortune Auto North America. The kits are fully rebuildable and revalveable in the USA, so they last for years rather than wearing out and needing replacement.
Fortune Auto Coilover Series and Suspension System Options
The Generation 8 lineup covers six suspension options sold by Coilovers.com. Each series uses 24-step damping, Koyo Japan radial bearings, and the modular architecture that lets the kit grow with the build.
Fortune Auto 500 Series
The 500 Series is the entry into the Fortune Auto lineup and the most popular pick. Widely recognized as suitable for daily drivers, modified street builds, and weekend autocross. Single-adjustable damping with the High Flow Digressive Piston.
Fortune Auto 500 SL
The 500 SL is the lowered-car configuration of the 500 Series, with shortened shock bodies that drop ride height approximately 2.5 to 5 inches below stock. The pick when a deeper drop is the goal.
Fortune Auto 510 Series
The 510 Series uses the Concave Flow Digressive piston for a wider effective adjustment range than a conventional digressive shock. Designed for more intensive track use without giving up street comfort.
Fortune Auto MSC 1-Way
The MSC 1-Way was developed with Müller suspension specialists for high-line and exotic cars. The kit fits Ferrari, Lamborghini, Aston Martin, McLaren, and Porsche, where fitment, materials, and finish matter most. Swift Springs come standard, with spherical bearings and bright dip anodized hardware.
Fortune Auto Pro 2-Way Dreadnought
The Pro 2-Way Dreadnought is the double-adjustable kit. Compression and rebound are independently adjustable with 24 steps each, using the same CFD piston as the 510. The pick when compression and rebound need to be tuned separately.
Fortune Auto Pro 3-Way Dreadnought
The Pro 3-Way Dreadnought is the most adjustable kit in the range, equipped on some of the fastest cars in the world. Independent rebound (24 steps), low-speed compression (24 steps), and high-speed compression (17 steps) for pro-level club racing and track builds.
Custom-Built and Dyno Tested in the USA
Fortune Auto kits are custom built to order at Fortune Auto's Virginia facility. When customers specify a custom spring rate, Fortune Auto valves the dampers to match that rate at no additional cost on most kits. Brands offering custom rates without matching valving take a shortcut Fortune Auto does not take.
Every shock is dyno tested on Roehrig 2VS shock dynos and matched left-to-right within tight tolerance before shipping. Each kit ships with its dyno graph as a quality-control record. The result is consistent performance across all four corners of the car.
The modular upgrade architecture is the other reason Fortune Auto is treated as a long-term suspension investment. A 500 Series kit can grow into a 510, then into a Pro 2-Way or Pro 3-Way Dreadnought, without buying new shocks. Shock bodies and core components carry forward. Fortune Auto's Virginia facility also performs in-house overhaul and rebuild service, returning kits to factory spec rather than replacement.
Fortune Auto Coilover FAQ
Are Fortune Auto coilovers good? Yes. The brand is widely considered high quality, reputable, and versatile, with more than a decade of US-based hand assembly. Customers consistently report that real-world performance, ride quality, and reliability justify the investment. The hand-built nature of every kit, paired with the modular upgrade architecture, is why owners treat them as a long-term investment.
How long do Fortune Auto coilovers last? Each kit is fully rebuildable and revalveable in the USA, so a set installed today can be serviced for years. Fortune Auto's published service intervals: no track use, rebuild every 60,000 miles or 5 years. Mixed use, rebuild every 15,000 to 30,000 miles or 3 years. Track use only, rebuild every 1,000 miles or 1 year.
Where are fortune coilovers made? Hand assembled at Fortune Auto's Virginia facility (Powhatan County, in the Richmond, VA metro area). Engineering, assembly, dyno testing, and overhaul service for Fortune Auto coilovers all happen in the United States.
Are Fortune Auto coilovers adjustable? Yes. Every kit offers ride height adjustment independent of spring preload, plus damping adjustability. The 500 and 510 provide single 24-step damping. The Pro 2-Way adds independent rebound and compression. The Pro 3-Way adds independent high-speed compression on top.
What spring rate options are available? Most kits ship with a balanced standard spring rate tuned for street driving with occasional track use. Custom spring rates are available at order time on most kits at no additional cost, with valving matched to the chosen rate. Swift Springs and Hyperco are also offered.
Are Fortune Auto coilovers the best coilovers for daily driving?
Fortune Auto kits are a strong fit for daily drivers who also see occasional track use. The standard spring rate stays comfortable for street miles. The 24-step damping lets the driver soften the kit for daily roads and stiffen it before a track day. Owners who want a pure track build typically step up to the 510 or Pro 2-Way. The best coilovers for any driver depend on the build goal, the budget, and the chassis. Call us at 1-800-460-9106 and we will walk through the right pick for the car.
Do I need a wheel alignment after installing coilovers? Yes. After installing any coilover kit, a four-wheel alignment is essential. The new ride height changes camber, toe, and caster. Skipping the alignment causes uneven tire wear and poor handling. Plan the alignment as part of the install job.
